Oh yeah..... forgot about that. When I hear the words "talk radio," I think of the crap my father listens to, i.e. dumb white guys arguing ridiculous, illogical points and an announcer instigating dissention. I can't stand confict, can't stand hearing people argue -- it drives me MAD, I tell you, MAAAAAD!!!!! Will let Rob know of your media desires. Be well!

Well I only listen to Bengals talk radio... which is mindless fun :) or lately agonizing pain. I use to listen to Air America before it got taken off the radio here. I only listen to the jingoistic white male brow beating knuckle dragging nonsense if i want to get mad and hear the latest mind numbing arguments. I will gladly partake in an electronic media exchange with Rob. And HEY wasn't he on talk radio? so not ALL talk radio is bad in Cincy huh?

Oh - and we also have some CD's of the Dalai Lama's Buddhism and science series. Please feel free to borrow away. (Though I value your autonomy, I still feel the urge to save you from talk radio. I know how much gray matter you're carrying around in that noggin.) Rob is downtown and actually has LUNCH HOURS this quarter -- I hint at a meeting wherein a digital information exchange can occur.

(The internet gawds cut off the rest of my reply above. Since I copy everything I write, I can repaste it for your viewing enjoyment.) I also like lectures -- we have an *awesome* six CD collection of Robert Thruman speaking and the entire Joseph Campbell lecture series if you want to borrow it. I also make affirmation CD's that I listen to as well. (I wonder if I am the only person in the world who uses affirmations to remind myself that samsara is optional.) I haven't listened to commercial radio in more than twelve years -- I CANNOT STAND talk radio, or anyone talking on my radio. (I screamed once in the bathtub because a man's voice interrupted my classical music -- I forgot that people did such things.) The sounds of talk radio and television are like nails on a chalkboard to me -- immediately grating. I will do anything to make those sounds stop. Have you experimented with the sounds you put into your head on the way to work and how you feel during that day? Just curious. Robert Thurman might give your head a bright and shiny new insight.

your antics are legendary.. playing 4 dimensional scrabbles games with the ghost of timothy leary... i've never enjoyed narrated books... i tend to lose bits of the story say when someone with a cell phone decides to pull infront of me so they can drive 55 in the fast lane and talk. i do like to listen to seminar and lectures on cd, or even podcasts on my ipod. since its bengals season tho i tend to be listening to sports talk radio... oh the sadness. it does past the time though :)

Do you listen to books on tape? I try to "multi-task" any time that I am driving. (I don't sit in traffic, but I do drive the kids to my mom's house twice a week.) You could always sleep in our basement to avoid driving in so far.... as long as you could tolerate our antics.
